The Signs of Genital Herpes
Prodrome is when the genital herpes has become active and an outbreak is about to occur. It is a warning stage.
It may take either a few minutes or a few days before an outbreak occurs.
Warning signs may occur on the site where the outbreak will appear or in
other parts of the body. No two individuals have the same warning signs. It is, therefore, important to be
able to identify your own warning sign of genital herpes.
That is the key to being able to better manage your outbreaks. However, many can already identify and manage
outbreaks.
When you sense that the symptoms of an outbreak, the genital warts virus is already active reproducing in the body.
Taking the full course of Single-Day FAMVIR tablet at this stage will arrest the reproduction of the virus. If
you succeed at this time, you may be able to stop a full blown outbreak. Only Single-Day FAMVIR can stop or shorten
the outbreak of a recurrent genital herpes with just a single day treatment.
As stated earlier, everyone’s warning signs are different but here are what some had experienced:
1. Tingling, itching or burning in one area of the genitals
2. Pain in the leg or buttocks
3. Burning on the side of the leg or bottom of one foot
4. Flu-like symptoms such as headache, fever and swollen glands
5. Feeling emotionally irr4itable or depressed
During the warning signs stage, 20% to 25% of people start to have the active herpes virus present on the skin.
When the virus is present on the skin, it can be spread to another person . It can also be spread when no symptoms
are present. Virus may be present even when no sores are present.
The severity, frequency and symptoms of genital herpes outbreaks vary from one person to another. Some people
experience severe outbreaks with very painful burning and sores in the genital area while others have milder
genital herpes symptoms such as itching and redness during an outbreak.
In fact among the estimated 50 million Americans who have genital herpes, 90% don’t even realize that they have
the disease and could be spreading the virus without knowing it.
After the warning signs of a genital
herpes outbreak and if the outbreak is not treated, one or more sores begin to appear on the skin. The virus is
active on the skin during this time.
Take note that not all people with genital herpes experience visible sores during an outbreak. Sores develop in
the following stages:
1. Early redness may be seen in a small area of skin.
2. Small area of swelling appears which may not be noticed.
3. Small blisters filled with fluid form on top of the area that had redness.
4. Wet ulcers appear when the top of the blisters come off.
5. Dry crusts form over the wet ulcers as well as genital herpes
