Robert Devereux, 3rd Earl of Essex, was the Lord General of the armies of Parliament from 1642 to 1645. Our Sealed Knot regiment recreates his personal foot regiment which existed from the beginning of the Civil War in 1642 until it was disbanded in 1645.

As well as portraying his personal regiment we also have alternative identities as a New Model Army regiment and also a Scots Covenantor unit.
